The lesson plan I found deals with algebraic math on a high school(9th grade) level. Spreadsheets are a good way for children to learn algebra so that they can manipulate different numbers and use several different answers until they get the problem right, trial and error. It allows the students to see and get a better understanding as to why maybe one formula will give you the correct answer, and another will not.
