Excel Lesson
I found a lesson plan that teachers 5th graders how to collect data and then graph it using excel. They start by making a survey and predict what the surveys answers might be. Then the students go out and have people take the survey. They then collect the data and plot it using graphs. It's a step by step lesson plan that covers 5 days and teachers students not only about math, but technology. This is a great lesson plan Nicole. It teaches more than one thing to the students, such as: by reading the newspaper or watching the news, they getting involved with what is going on in their area, they also will learn the basics of manipulating graphs, and how to input data using Excel. This is also a great way to get their parents involved with the assignment and help the students with social skills by having them ask others the survey question. Great lesson plan for more than one reason!
